What Is YOUTH-MED®?
YOUTH-MED® is a year-round healthcare workforce development program that connects youth through early careerists to real clinical environments through mentorship, shadowing, interprofessional exposure, monthly programming, and experiential learning. Scholars explore diverse healthcare careers and gain firsthand insight into how healthcare actually works. YOUTH-MED® is delivered by
Help for Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (HHCP), a Georgia-based nonprofit, and has produced 65 alumni across Georgia.
This is not a classroom program. This is the real experience.

Live clinical shadowing across multiple clinical pathways. Scholars observe an interprofessional healthcare team in action, attend evening professional development workshops, and complete a reflection experience that captures their growth across the week.
Scholars in iResearch participate directly in health research through surveys, data collection, and structured feedback real research, real contribution.

YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive 2026

What is the YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive? The Summer Intensive is a one-week immersive healthcare career experience for young scholars. Students rotate through multiple healthcare disciplines, engage with practicing professionals, and complete structured career readiness activities in a real interprofessional training environment.

When does the program run? June 15 through 19, 2026. The closing ceremony takes place on June 19th, Juneteenth.

What are the daily hours?
This week includes facilitated sessions conducted in person, featuring expert-led workshops, the VR Innovation Lab, breakout sessions, career readiness activities, and immersive learning experiences. Additional schedules vary based on pathway activities, clinical placements, partner availability, and assigned experiences. Final schedules will be shared with participating families prior to program start.

Where is the program located? The program is based in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The venue address is confirmed and provided to participating families. Clinical and care site visits take place at partner locations across Gwinnett and Northeast Georgia. Specific sites are confirmed based on partner availability and scholar age.

What is the age requirement? The 2026 YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive serves scholars ages 13–20. Scholars take part in independent observational experiences at approved partner sites once they complete onboarding and meet site-specific requirements. Placement type and site assignment depend on availability.

How many seats are available? Limited seats are available for the 2026 cohort. Registration closes on June 5, 2026 or when seats are filled, whichever comes first.

What is the tuition? Tuition is $500 per scholar. Limited need-based access pricing is available. Email youthmed@hhcpinc.org before registering to inquire.

Are there any add-ons available? Yes. Families can add a CPR certification through the AHA Heartsaver CPR and AED course for $95 per person. Certification is valid for two years.
CPR Certification Date: Saturday, June 20th. Details available in the enrollment packet.

What happens if the program is full when I register? You will be redirected to the waitlist. HHCP will notify waitlisted families if a seat opens and will give waitlisted scholars priority registration for the next cohort.

What does my scholar receive upon completion? Scholars who complete the program receive a certificate of completion and are recognized at the closing ceremony on June 19th.

Who runs YOUTH-MED®? YOUTH-MED® is a program of Help for Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (HHCP), a nurse-owned 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in Gwinnett County, Georgia in 2020. HHCP has impacted more than 25,000 lives across 26 Georgia counties.

Is transportation assistance available? Limited transportation support may be available for qualifying Georgia families based on location, sponsorship support, program capacity, and funding availability. Transportation assistance is offered on a first-come, first-served basis while resources remain available. To request consideration, please indicate transportation needs on the enrollment form. Sponsor contributions directly expand the number of scholars and families we can support through YOUTH-MED® programming.

What is your refund policy? YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive 2026 tuition of $500 is non-refundable after May 30, 2026 except under the following circumstances: (1) documented medical emergency or hospitalization of the enrolled student, submitted in writing with physician documentation within 5 business days of withdrawal - families will receive a $425 refund with $75 retained as an administrative fee; (2) HHCP cancels the program in full, in which case a full refund of $500 will be issued within 30 days. No refunds will be issued for voluntary withdrawal, schedule conflicts, or failure to complete required documentation after May 30, 2026.

Program Terms
The YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive is operated by Help for Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (HHCP). By participating, participants and parents/guardians acknowledge that program activities, schedules, placements, shadowing opportunities, transportation support, certifications, and immersive experiences may vary based on participant age, pathway alignment, onboarding completion, partner requirements, operational capacity, and healthcare site availability.
Certain approved observational experiences for eligible scholars may occur independently at partner locations without an HHCP team member physically onsite. Partner sites maintain their own visitor and safety policies and remain responsible for compliance with their facility requirements during scholar visits.
HHCP reserves the right to adjust, modify, reschedule, or cancel program activities, placements, or experiences at its discretion to maintain participant safety, compliance, educational quality, and program operations. HHCP also reserves the right to cancel or restructure the Summer Intensive if minimum enrollment is not reached by the registration close date. In that scenario, paid tuition will be refunded in full or applied to a future YOUTH-MED® program at the family's election.
