YOUTH-MED® 2027

Youth Opportunities for Unparalleled Training in Healthcare, Medicine, Education, and Development

American Heart Association CPR Certification, Saturday June 20th. Optional add-on for scholars, volunteers, and YOUTH-MED families.

What Is YOUTH-MED®?

YOUTH-MED® is a year-round healthcare workforce development program that connects youth through early careerists to real clinical environments through mentorship, shadowing, interprofessional exposure, monthly programming, and experiential learning. Scholars explore diverse healthcare careers and gain firsthand insight into how healthcare actually works. YOUTH-MED® is delivered by

Help for Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (HHCP), a Georgia-based nonprofit, and has produced 65 alumni across Georgia.

 

This is not a classroom program. This is the real experience.

YOUTH-MED® Standard (Ages 13–20)

Placement structure varies by scholar age and partner availability. See FAQ for details.

Live clinical shadowing across multiple clinical pathways. Scholars observe an interprofessional healthcare team in action, attend evening professional development workshops, and complete a reflection experience that captures their growth across the week.

Scholars in iResearch participate directly in health research through surveys, data collection, and structured feedback real research, real contribution.

YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive
 

1. What is the YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive?

  • YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive is an immersive healthcare career exploration program designed for students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, clinical exposure, leadership development, and career readiness activities, scholars gain valuable insight into a variety of healthcare professions while learning directly from experienced professionals.

2. When will the YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive 2027 take place?

  • The 2027 program is scheduled for Summer 2027. Official program dates, locations, and enrollment timelines will be announced prior to the opening of applications. Join our Interest List to receive updates as soon as they become available.

3. Where will the program be held?

  • The YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive is hosted in Gwinnett County, Georgia, with learning experiences taking place at HHCP partner healthcare facilities and community organizations. Specific locations will be shared with accepted scholars before the program begins.

4. Who can apply?

  • YOUTH-MED® is designed for motivated students who are interested in exploring careers in healthcare. Age and eligibility requirements for the 2027 cohort will be announced when applications officially open.

6. Will clinical shadowing be available?

  • Eligible scholars may have the opportunity to participate in clinical observation experiences at approved healthcare partner sites. Participation is based on program requirements, age eligibility, completion of onboarding, and partner site availability.

7. Will virtual reality simulation be included?

  • HHCP continues to expand innovative learning experiences, including healthcare simulation and emerging technologies. Additional program details will be shared with accepted participants before the program begins.

8. How much is the program tuition?

  • Tuition, scholarship opportunities, and financial assistance information for the 2027 program will be announced when registration officially opens.

9. Are scholarships or financial assistance available?

  • HHCP is committed to increasing access to healthcare education. Limited scholarship opportunities and financial assistance may be available based on funding and program sponsorships.

10. Is CPR certification available?

  • Optional certifications and additional learning opportunities, including CPR training, may be offered during the 2027 program. Details will be released during enrollment.

11. What will scholars receive after completing the program?

  • Scholars who successfully complete the Summer Intensive will receive a Certificate of Completion and recognition during the program's closing celebration. Additional opportunities, including continued engagement through YOUTH-MED® programming, may also be available.

12. Who operates YOUTH-MED®?

  • YOUTH-MED® is a signature program of Help for Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (HHCP), a nurse-owned 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the future healthcare workforce through education, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement.

13. Is transportation assistance available?

  • Limited transportation assistance may be available for eligible families based on funding, location, and program capacity. Additional information will be provided during the application process.

14. How can I stay informed about YOUTH-MED® 2027?

  • Join the YOUTH-MED® 2027 Interest List to receive updates on application dates, scholarship opportunities, program announcements, Career Connect sessions, and upcoming events.

15. How do I apply?

  • Applications for YOUTH-MED® Summer Intensive 2027 will open soon. Once registration begins, interested students will be able to complete the online application through the HHCP website.

16. What is the refund policy?

  • The refund policy for the 2027 Summer Intensive will be published before enrollment opens. Complete details, including cancellation deadlines and program policies, will be included in the enrollment materials and registration packet.
