HHCP YOUTH-MED Program Application

Dear Participant,

Thank you for your interest in the HHCP YOUTH-MED Mentorship Program! This program, a collaboration between Help for Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (HHCP) and Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS), is designed to provide aspiring healthcare professionals with meaningful mentorship, hands-on training, and career exposure.

About HHCP

Help for Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (HHCP) is a nurse-owned 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. HHCP is dedicated to supporting healthcare professionals through education, mentorship, and crisis relief to strengthen the future healthcare workforce.

Building the Pipeline for Healthcare’s Future

The healthcare workforce shortage remains a critical challenge that requires collaboration between medical schools, healthcare institutions, and the broader community. The YOUTH-MED program is committed to developing a sustainable pipeline by challenging youth to explore diverse pathways to a rewarding career in healthcare.

This innovative mentorship initiative includes a summer-intensive experience, where students receive guidance from experienced professionals while gaining hands-on exposure to healthcare careers. Additionally, faculty mentors participate in a structured mentorship curriculum to enhance their ability to support and inspire students. The program’s inter-professional approach promotes collaboration among physicians, educators, and community leaders, ensuring a holistic learning experience that prepares students for success.
